suspectUPDATE: MURRAY, Ky. (8/5/14) — MPD Identifies Robbery Suspect.

Following investigation into the robbery at CVS Pharmacy on Aug. 4, 2014, MPD investigators identified Gary Vanderweff, 62, of Murray.  

Vanderwerff was taken into custody without incident, and lodged at the Calloway County Jail.  Vanderwerff is charged with Robbery First Degree, a Class B Felony.

MURRAY, Ky. (8/5/14) — At approximately 4:20 p.m. MPD officers responded to a reported robbery at CVS Pharmacy 12th and Main Street.

The suspect entered the pharmacy, demanded medications, and threatened to use a gun if he did not receive them. No gun was observed, however.

The suspect is described as a tall, heavy set middle aged white male wearing a Murray State University hat, button up denim sleeveless shirt, blue jean shorts, white socks, and black shoes.
