US68LakeBarkleyBridgeCantonLake Barkley BridgeTRIGG COUNTY, Ky. (8/11/14) — As a reminder, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to place a lane and load width restriction on the US 68/Kentucky 80 Lake Barkley Bridge at Canton in Trigg County starting Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014.

This lane and load width restriction is to allow deck patching and joint repair work on the Lake Barkley Bridge at US 68 mile point 8.824.

Motorists should be prepared to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by an automated signal. This work zone will include an 8 ft. load width restriction which will exclude most trucks.

This work zone is expected to be in place around the clock on weekdays through about Thursday, Aug. 21. The work zone will not be up on Saturday and Sunday. We will attempt to provide timely notice when the work is completed.

The US 68/Kentucky 80 Cumberland River/Lake Barkley Bridge, also known as the Lawrence Memorial Bridge and the Canton Bridge, carries approximately 3,800 vehicles across Lake Barkley/The Cumberland River in an average day.

The bridge is located at US 68 mile point 8.596 in Trigg County and serves as the eastern entrance to Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. The bridge is at Cumberland River navigational mile point 63.1.
