A blood drive will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 at the MCCH Center for Health and Wellness. Come give the gift of life and support the MCCH Blood Donor Center.
A free nutrition education event titled “Sub Sandwich 101” will be held from 9-9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12 in the Center for Health and Wellness. Dive right in and join Rebecca Wright, Registered Dietitian, for a discussion on getting the greatest health benefit from your sub sandwich.
Plan to Be Tobacco Free with Jamie Smith of the Kentucky Cancer Program from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15 at the MCCH Center for Health and Wellness. Smith will be presenting a free session to teach people how to be smoke free. The class will address addiction, behaviors and available resources, and will help smokers develop a quit plan. Free health screenings will be offered during the Wesley at Murray Health Fair from 8-10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the Wesley Retirement center, 440 Utterback Road, Murray. MCCH Wellness Works staff will provide free lipid, blood sugar and PSA screenings in addition to heel scans for osteoporosis screening. A 12-hour fast, no food or drink except water, is required for the blood draw.
