Two Vehicle Collision Sends Two to Hospital

Accident Injuries 01 300PADUCAH, Ky. (8/22/14) — On Aug. 21, 2014 at approximately 1:36 p.m., deputies were notified of an injury accident in the 5800 block of Old Mayfield.

53 year old Kathy Adams of Paducah, Ky., was stopped at 5815 Old Mayfield Road in a 2014 Chevy Silverado, delivering mail as a mail carrier. 70 year old James Beaver of Paducah was traveling northbound in the same lane as Adams in a 1997 Ford Expedition, when he failed to observe Adams stopped in the roadway.

Beaver struck Adams in the rear of her vehicle, causing her to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole. Both Beaver and Adams were taken to area hospitals with non life threatening injuries by Mercy EMS. Hendron FD and Jackson Purchase Electric both responded to assist at the scene.

BA’s and Speedy’s Towing both assisted in clean up and removal of the vehicles.

The roadway was shut down for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
