MEM DAY hours1PADUCAH, Ky. (5/24/13) – City Hall located at 300 South 5th Street will be closed on Monday, May 27 for the Memorial Day holiday.

Engineering-Public Works Department: Below are the changes to the Engineering-Public Works Department schedule due to the Memorial Day holiday.

• The City of Paducah will not collect brush or limbs on Monday, May 27.
• The Compost Facility located at 1560 North 8th Street will be closed on Monday, May 27 but will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 28. The regular operating schedule for the Compost Facility is Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. -3 p.m. The facility accepts limbs, brush, and other yard waste from local residents; however, it will be closed on Memorial Day.

The trash collection schedule for the Memorial Day week will not change. If you have questions, contact the Engineering-Public Works Department at 444-8567.

Noble Park Pool: The Paducah Parks Services Department will open the Noble Park Pool for the season on Memorial Day from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. During the season, which runs through August 11, the pool will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 5 p.m. It will be closed to the public on Mondays with the exception of Memorial Day. Pool admission is $5 for adults and for children at least five years old; $3 for children four years old and younger; and $3 for seniors.

Over the past few months, City staff and contractors have been reconstructing the pool and improving the pool’s amenities, concession area, and components such as the pool liner and filtration, piping, and disinfection systems. The spray pad which replaces the baby pool will open in about two weeks. New features include dual slides, new diving boards, more canopies and lounge chairs, and an expanded menu at the concession stand. Also, concessions will be available to anyone who visits Noble Park. The concession area has two order windows, one inside the pool area and one for walk-up customers. Concessions will be available Memorial Day in addition to the regular hours of Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Sunday 1:30-4:30 p.m.

The Parks Services Department wants the public to be aware of a change in the pool rules. Due to filtration capacity limits, swim diapers are prohibited in the pool. All swimmers must be toilet trained. Children in swim diapers can play in the spray pad area once it opens for the season. For more information about upcoming Noble Park Pool special events, pool rental, and swimming lessons, visit www.paducahky.gov.

Robert Coleman Spraypark: The Robert Coleman Spraypark located at Caldwell Street and Walter Jetton Drive will be open to the public on Saturday, May 25. It will be open Memorial Day. The free spraypark is open daily from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. through early September.
