mc school logoMUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (4/12/13) – The annual dinner and silent auction fundraiser for the Muhlenberg High School Band is set for Saturday, April 27th at 6 pm. The catered event will be held in the Muhlenberg West Campus cafeteria.

Band booster president James Brewer says "it's a great night of fun, food, and, best of all, all the proceeds go to the kids in our band. Dinner will be at 6:30. We will be giving away door prizes. Then the silent auction will be held immediately following dinner. Area businesses have been great in giving us some fantastic items. From restaurants to oil changes...you name it. We'll take bids on various prize baskets, including a UK themed basket, a basket for fishermen, a gardening prize basket and more."

Brewer stressed that since the event is catered, the band boosters are attempting to sell as many advance tickets as possible.

"Because this is catered, we really need to try and get ticket sales wrapped up no later than April 19th. You must have a ticket to get in. Of course if people want to purchase tickets after the deadline we will, but it would be nice to know exactly how many people to expect." Brewer said.

For ticket information you can contact any member of the band boosters, stop by Brewer's dental office at 200 West Reservoir, or call (270) 754-3131, (270) 543-3305, or (270) 543-9183.

You can also contact the West or East Campus directly. Tickets are just 25.00 for 2 adults, single adult tickets are 15.00, and student tickets are 10.00.

Other band events on the way include:

April 18th: The Muhlenberg Middle School band competes in the KMEA festival in Bowling Green.
April 20th: The MCHS Marching Band performs at the KMEA Festival.
April 27th: Solos and ensembles at Muhlenberg West.
April 29th: Jazz Band Taste of Muhlenberg at 6pm.
April 30th: MCHS Spring Concert at Felix Martin Hall at 6:30pm.
