nick brakeOWENSBORO, Ky. (5/24/13) – Nick Brake was the latest recipient of the Greater Owensboro Realtor Association’s Heritage Award this week.

The group honored Brake at a ceremony on Tuesday for his work with the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation’s downtown revitalization efforts and development of the Emerging Ventures Center for Innovation, as well as other local accomplishments.

The award, given to distinguished citizens annually since 1972, is described by the association as “the highest honor given to a member of the public by the Greater Owensboro Realtor Association. Recipients are known for their dedication to improving our communities, which is the common bond shared in a mutual ‘Heritgage.’”

Brake recently accepted a contract with the Owensboro Public Schools Board of Education to serve as the district’s superintendent starting in July.
