Owensboro Community and Technical College Offers ‘HOPE’

octcs 01 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/6/13) – Are you a working adult looking for a way to obtain a college degree at a pace that fits your schedule?

Owensboro Community and Technical College offers a new program to make that dream a reality with OCTC’s HOPE 411. Through this new program, you can attend classes on campus for just a half of day each week and still complete an Associate in Arts or Science in as little as two years.

“We continually strive to make higher education more accessible to the people in our region, and we are very excited about offering this program,” said OCTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Scott Williams.

HOPE stands for Hybrid Online Pathway for Education. It’s called “411” because it’s designed to take place over four semesters at a pace of one day a week to obtain one degree. HOPE provides online and hybrid courses in an innovative mix that allows students to complete your studies on your time. Keep your job – and your paycheck – without giving up hope on furthering your education.

“Our growing online and hybrid course options have allowed us to offer this program. This initiative is another great offshoot of our Title III grant,” said OCTC President Jim Klauber. “HOPE 411 is an ideal option for folks who need to keep their full-time job but want to earn their degree."
