Fatal Crash Involving Alcohol

 

fatal Crash2 300CALDWELL COUNTY, KY (12/27/11) – On Tuesday, Dec. 27, at approximately 10:30 AM, Kentucky State Police (KSP) officials were dispatched to the scene of an accident on KY 672.
 
Once on the scene, KSP Troopers found that Jeffery R. Alfred, age 25 of Dawson Springs, KY, was operating a 2005 Ford F-250 pickup truck southbound on KY 672 when he lost control of it. The truck exited the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. The truck spun around and came to rest partially in the roadway.
 
The passenger, Thomas A. Redden, age 28 of Dawson Springs, KY, was transported via ambulance to the Caldwell County Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
Alfred was not injured. He was arrested and charged with Murder, DUI 2nd Offense, and Leaving Scene of Accident/Failure to Render Aid/Assistance. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
 
The investigation is continuing by Trooper Joseph Bartolotti. Trooper First Class Chris King, Trooper Ben Sawyer, Sergeant Matt Jordan, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department, the Princeton Fire Department, Caldwell County EMS, and the Caldwell County Coroner’s Office assisted on the scene.
