LEXINGTON, Ky (8/14/13)—It’s football season and a new season of Dancing With the Stars, which can add a little tension when it’s time to sit down and watch TV. Samsung has launched a new 55-inch curved TV, which is the first of its kind to be released outside of Asia. All though it is expensive, pricing at $13,000, which is about five times more than its flat screen equivalents, Samsung believes that this is the next generation of televisions.
It is the second curved model to be made and it keeps all parts of the screen equal distance from the viewers. The concave screen gives viewers the feeling of being immersed in the image and reduces the images from being pixilated. The most exciting feature? The concave television screen can be split so that two viewers can watch different shows at the same time which means no more recording or fighting over who gets the remote.
The Samsung TVs made their big debut in the United States this week and as of right now they are being sold in just a few specialty Best Buy stores.
