New App Rewards Patrons for Movie Manners

app cinemaLEXINGTON, Ky. (8/15/13)—When you go to see a movie you expect to be able to enjoy it without any distractions. There is nothing more annoying than sitting around someone who constantly texts, emails, answers phone calls or uses their phone in general.

Cinemark Theatres now has an app that will help discourage phone use during films. Simple turn on the ‘CineMode’ app at the beginning of the movie; at the end of the movie if you did not use your phone you will be rewarded. The first reward is a free medium drink and after that the promotions change weekly and could be free candy, a free hotdog, and discounts on popcorn.

The app is available for iPhone and Android smart phone users and is set out to reward moviegoers for their good behavior while being in a theatre. There is no sign up or user log in and the app is free.
