LEXINGTON, Ky (9/3/2013)— The Division of Planning is seeking input from the public as they update Lexington's 5-year comprehensive plan.
The purpose of the comprehensive plan is to provide guidance for growth and development in Fayette County. The 2013 plan focuses on job creation, neighborhoods and growing the community within the existing urban area while preserving rural land for farming and equine uses.
The goals and objectives portion of the plan has already been adopted by the Lexington Urban County Council. The remainder of the plan will be adopted by the Planning Commission after public input has been received on the draft plan.
Detailed information on the 5-year comprehensive plan is available on the city's website at www.lexingtonky.gov/2013CompPlan where citizens may also download a printable PDF of the plan.
