LEXINGTON, Ky (9/10/2013)—Lexington is experiencing what Matt Dixon, Meteorologist from the University of Kentucky Ag Weather Center, would call a ‘late season heat wave.’
“The next couple of days are going to be rather warm with highs in the upper 80s and dew points in the upper 60s,” said Dixon, “but a cold front will be crossing the Bluegrass come Thursday.”
After the cold front makes its way through Kentucky on Thursday, we can expect to see cooler temperatures throughout the weekend and going into next week.
“Lexington highs will go from upper 80s today and tomorrow, to low 70s into the weekend,” said Dixon, “It’s a drastic change, but fall is on the way.”
Looking a little farther, Dixon said that it looks like the beginning of next week highs will stay consistent in the 70s, which is average for this time of the year.
“It will be interesting to see what the weather does in the next couple of weeks,” said Dixon.
