Consumer Chronicle: New iPhone, iOS 7

apple phone1LEXINGTON, Ky. (9/16/13) – The wait is over for Apple and iPhone lovers. The new iPhone 5s was released last week, as well as the new iPhone 5c and iOS 7.

The iPhone 5s is set to have a much faster processing speed than older models of the iPhone, including the iPhone 4s and the iPhone 5. With the first ever 64-bit A7 chip in a phone, the iPhone 5s will reportedly double the speed of the iPhone 5 processor.

The new device will also have the capability of scanning your fingerprint in the home button. You can unlock the phone and authorize iTunes and App Store purchases with just a touch.

The phone will also include the new iSight camera, which will offer 8 megapixels and a “true tone” flash that has two LED flashes with two different colors stacked on top of each other. Also, the camera has a new “burst” feature that will capture 10 frames per second. The software will then suggest the best ones, allowing you to eliminate the others. There's also a slow motion option for capturing video.

The iPhone 5s comes in three different colors; space gray, gold and silver.

The iPhone 5c will come in 5 different colors; green, blue, yellow, pink and white. It is a much more affordable option, with a slightly smaller A6 chip and plastic casing. The iPhone 5c will include iOS 7.

Both phones are now available for pre-order, and are set to deliver on Sept. 20. With a new contract, the iPhone 5s 16GB will start at $199, the 32GB at $299 and the 64GB at $399. The iPhone 5c 16GB is $99 and the 32GB is $199.
