Mustangs Take Third in KEMA Regionals

muhl mustangs band 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (10/22/13) — The Muhlenberg Marching Mustangs played host to the KEMA Regional competition with 11 bands in the 2A semi-finals, and eight bands advancing to the state semi-finals in Louisville this Saturday at Papa John's Stadiums.

Ten bands took part in 5A competition, after a rousing production put on by the WKU Big Red Marching Machine. The sun broke through and blue skies appeared in time for the 5A competition which began at 5 p.m. Ten bands were in the quarterfinals with eight advancing to state, including the Mustangs which took third place overall. The Mustangs were also awarded a Distinguished rating. They will compete at the semi-finals on Saturday, along with 15 other 5A bands. The Mustangs take the field at 1:30 p.m.
