LEXINGTON, Ky. (10/24/13) — Temperatures in most of the state feel like it went straight to winter this past week as highs have reached only to the low 50s. Matt Dixon, meteorologist with the University of Kentucky Ag Weather Center predicts that the first widespread freeze of the season will make its way into tomorrow morning.
“Tonight, high pressure will build in the area, skies will clear and winds will go calm,” Dixon said. “This will allow for temperatures to plummet tomorrow morning statewide only to mid/upper 20s.”
Tomorrow morning through Saturday, an arctic blast is making its way into the Bluegrass to make for a very cold weekend coming up.
“We are hitting a very cold weekend coming up,” Dixon said, “the freezing weather won’t last long though, temperatures are expected to rise back to the 60s by Monday.”
