Mayors in PADD District Join in 'Get Up and Go' Initiative

canoeing 300DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. (11/5/13) — Mayors from towns across the region are joining forces with regional health departments within the Pennyrile Area Development District to encourage exercise opportunities for the citizens in their cities. The initiative is

The first “Get Up and Go” adventure began recently on the Tradewater River in Hopkins County at Dawson Springs. Mayors included in the excursion were Madisonville Mayor David Jackson, Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp, Dawson Springs Mayor Jenny Sewell, Marion Mayor Mickey Alexander and Princeton Mayor Gale Cherry.

The group went on a boat trip along the river and dined at the Pennyrile Forest State Park in Christian County.
