Owensboro Faces Familiar Foe Warren East

basic football3 300OWENSBORO, Ky, (11/14/13) – Last week, the Red Devils cruised to a 48 – 6 victory over the 1 – 9 Breckinridge County Tigers.

Owensboro will face a much tougher Warren East (7 – 4) football team this week. The Raiders knocked the Red Devils out of the playoffs last year in the Regional Championship game.

When asked about the keys to the game Owensboro Head Coach Joe Prince said, “Physical teams win football games; we have to be the most physical on the field.”

This late in the season, injuries play a huge factor in playoff games.

“A couple of guys have to step up for injured players,” Prince said.

The Red Devils will have to use their speed to combat Warren East’s size. But, the Raiders do have a division one prospect in Eli Brown, who sat out week with an injury.

Warren East will travel to Owensboro High School to take on the Red Devils. The game will kick off Friday night at 7.
