Board to Decide Snow Day Make Up at Next Meeting

muhl co school 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (12/19/13) — The Muhlenberg County School System is taking its annual Christmas break effective today through Jan. 1. Of course, the question on every child's mind is 'When is our next break?'

According to Sherri Miller, Board of Education secretary, the second semester will begin Jan. 2.

The next break will be Jan. 20, followed by a Professional Day Feb. 17.

Spring Break is scheduled for March 31 through April 4.

The last day of school for students for the 2013-2014 school calendar is May 14. The last day for teachers is May 15.

However, weather has already played a factor in this year’s schedule.

“The school system has already missed two days due to snow.” said Miller. “The board will decide when snow days will be made up during their next scheduled meeting at 5 p.m. on Jan. 13 at the board’s main office in Powderly.”
