Whitfield Announces $1.5 Million Grant for Muhlenberg Airport

N0261090GREENVILLE, Ky. (6/6/14) - U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield, Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power, announced today, Friday, June 6 that Muhlenberg County will receive a federal grant of $1,550,000 for the county's airport.

The award, given by the Federal Aviation Administration will provide funds for the construction phase of a taxiway at the Muhlenberg County Airport. The taxiway will eliminate the need for aircraft to "back-taxi" on the runway.

"I am pleased to see Muhlenberg County receive these construction funds," Whitfield said.  "This will provide the opportunity for growth and development within this community."
