Vehicle Driven into Paducah Home after Burglary

 

carvshousePADUCAH, KY (1/28/12) – On Saturday, Jan. 28, at around 6:45 a.m., McCracken County Sheriff’s Dept. officials received information of a burglary 1t 340 Windmere Drive.

According to Sheriff’s Office officials, a resident in the neighborhood noticed that the front of a home owned by Jones and Linda Peters’ had been struck by a jeep.

When deputies arrived, they discovered the residence had been burglarized and the Jeep intentionally driven into the home.  It appeared that the home was forcibly entered through a window and had been ransacked.  Unknown individual(s) appeared to have rummaged through drawers, closets and cabinets.  Details of property taken has not been determined due to Jones and Peters being out of town at the time of discovery.  

It appeared, after the burglary was committed, the individual(s) located the keys to the Jeep, aimed the Jeep towards the home, and rigged the steering wheel and accelerator so the vehicle would accelerate into the home unoccupied.

The home suffered extensive damage to the living room area.  

If anyone has information regarding this crime, please contact the McCracken County Sheriff's Department at 444-4719, or contact Crimestoppers at 443-TELL. Anyone with information leading to the arrest and/or conviction may be eligible for a reward up to $1000.
