Two Arrested for Selling Prescription Meds

 

ARREST PRES DRUGSPADUCAH, KY (3/7/12) - On Monday, March 5, 2012, the McCracken County Sheriff's Department received information that a local man was illegally selling controlled substances to several individuals.
 
Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department Drug Division began an investigation and were able to obtain records of some of the transactions. Detectives also learned that many of the alleged drug transactions occurred at a local high school during normal school hours. The investigation revealed that the male had been selling the controlled substances to several individuals, which included a 17-year-old. The male was identified as Jared Hill, also a local high school student. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Hill had sold controlled substances, including Percocet, Lortab, Vyvnase, Concerta, and marijuana to the juvenile.
 
During the afternoon of March 5, 2012, Hill was located by deputies and detectives and subsequently interviewed regarding the alleged activities.
 
On March 6, 2012, an arrest warrant for five counts of Selling Controlled Substance to a Minor and one count of Possession of Marijuana was obtained for Jared Hill. Selling Controlled Substance to a Minor is a Class "C" felony. Hill turned himself into the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. Percocet, Vyvanse, and Concerta are all Schedule II controlled susbtances while Lortab is a Schedule III controlled susbtance. According the Drug Enforcement Administration, Schedule II controlled substances have a high potential for abuse and have some accepted medical use.
 
In a seperate investigation, the McCracken County Grand Jury indicted Josh Goheen of Paducah, KY for Trafficking in Controlled Substances 2nd Degree, 2nd Offense.
 
In February, detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department began an investigation regarding Goheen Trafficking in prescription medication. During the investigation, it was determined that Goheen had sold a quantity of Lortab doses during the month of February.
 
During the investigation, Goheen was arrested for an unrelated probation violation. The indictment warrant was served on Goheen at the McCracken County Regional Jail on March 1, 2012.
 
Arrested:
Jared Hill, 19 years of age, Paducah, KY
Charges:
Five counts of Selling Controlled Susbtance to a Minor (A Class "C" felony, punishable by 5 - 10 years ) and Possession of Marijuana (A class "B" misdemeanor)
 
Arrested:
Josh Goheen, 30 years of age, Paducah, KY
Charges:
Trafficking Controlled Susbtance 2nd Degree, 2nd Offense (A Class "D" felony, punishable by 1 - 5 years)
