Single Vehicle Accident Ends in Fatality

rollover accident 300PADUCAH, KY (3/9/12) – According to McCracken County Sheriff’s Dept. officials, at 2:49 AM this morning the Sheriff’s Department, along with the Lone Oak Fire Department and Mercy Regional EMS, were dispatched to a rollover accident involving a single vehicle at the intersection of Lakeview Drive and Milton Drive.

The investigation revealed that prior the accident, the midsized passenger car was traveling east on Lakeview Drive when it dropped off the right hand side of the roadway where it struck a driveway culvert. This caused the vehicle to become airborne. Upon landing, it began to roll over several times as it traveled through several yards. It eventually came to rest on the roof in the middle of Lakeview Drive.

The lone occupant was pronounced dead at the scene and had to be extricated from the wreckage with the Jaws of Life by the Lone Oak Fire Firefighters.

The make and model of the passenger car along with the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
