PADUCAH, KY (3/26/12) - On Friday, March 23, 2012, detectives from the Drug Divisions of the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and Marshall County Sheriff's Office arrested three individuals for methamphetamine offenses.
Detectives had received complaints alleging that illegal methamphetamine activity was occurring at an apartment complex in downtown Paducah. While conducting the investigation, detectives learned that the individuals alleged to be involved had been purchasing Sudafed from area pharmacies frequently and that one of the individuals had an outstanding warrant.
Detectives conducted surveillance in the area and located the male that was wanted, Perry Anderson. Detectives went to the apartment complex and spoke with Mark "Kickboxer" Mitchell and Perry Anderson. In speaking with the individuals, detectives located a methamphetamine smoking pipe and a quantity of methamphetamine.
The investigation at the apartment revealed that Mitchell had been actively buying Sudafed and giving it to individuals in return for methamphetamine and money, knowing that it would later be manufactured into Methamphetamine. Mitchell and Anderson were arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
In a follow up investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at the Ritz Apartments in Paducah located at 2201 Broadway. Detectives located Ian Hunter, the resident of the apartment and arrested him. A quantity of methamphetamine, which was packaged for sell, was located on Hunter. In executing the search warrant at Hunter's residence, detectives located additional evidence of trafficking of meth and the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
At the time of his arrest, Hunter was on felony parole for a manufacturing methamphetamine conviction. Hunter received a 15-year prison sentence in 2008 for manufacturing Methamphetamine but, was released early on parole. Hunter admitted in an interview with Sheriff's detectives that he had been previously convicted of manufacturing in Methamphetamine on three prior occasions in Kentucky and Tennessee. Hunter was lodged in the McCracken County Jail. The investigation is continuing and other arrests are likely.
