crash 300PADUCAH, KY (3/27/12) – At 3:38 PM on Tuesday, March 27, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle collision with injuries with one vehicle rolled over.

The investigation showed that a 2003 Mini Cooper was making a left turn onto North Friendship Road to head southbound and pulled into the path of a 2000 Toyota Solara. Both vehicles ran off the right shoulder causing the Solara to roll over and flip on the passenger door. The operator of the Mini Cooper, 18-year-old MacKenzie Akers, and passenger 19-year-old Alexander Clark, both of Paducah, were not injured. The operator of the Toyota Solara, 45-year-old Melissa Yarbrough, had to be extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means and was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries from the collision

The Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Lone Oak and Concord Fire Department’s, Mercy Regional Ambulance Service, and Meadow’s and Vanzant’s Towing to clean up the scene.

Traffic was slowed for approximately one hour while the scene was investigated.
