gower arrestPADUCAH, KY (3/29/12) - In January 2012, detectives from the McCracken County Sheriff's Department Drug Division began an investigation into the illegal sale of prescription pain medication by Ronald Gower of Paducah, KY. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Gower had been receiving large quantities of pain medication from several area doctors, as well as dentists from other areas of Kentucky.

Detectives began a subsequent investigation into the medications that were being prescribed to Gower. Detectives determined that Gower had been deceiving several of the physicians from whom he had received pain medication. Gower had received multiple prescriptions within days of each other for a period of almost three years.
 
In March 2012, the McCracken County Grand Jury indicted Ronald Gower for ten counts of Obtaining Controlled Substance by Fraud. On March 29, 2012, Gower was arrested at his residence in downtown Paducah. He was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

As part of the original investigation, detectives had previously arrested Gower on March 16 for Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st and 2nd Degrees. Gower was out of jail on bond when he was rearrested on March 29.

Ten counts of Attempt/Obtain Controlled Substance by Fraud/False Statement/Forgery (All counts are Class "D" felonies, punishable by 1 - 5 years each)
