PADUCAH, KY (4/26/12) – The Best Green Energy Solutions Conference will be held at West Kentucky Community and Technical College.
The conference, held on May 3, is part of Project Going Green, a joint effort by West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) and the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Association Local 184. This project provides training in green awareness systems; plumbing; and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).
“As part of Project Going Green, convening a conference like this is essential in learning best practices and green solutions from industry professionals, said Kristen Amaya, WKCTC Project Going Green Facilitator. “Bringing these leaders to our campus will benefit us all as we seek more efficient and sustainable solutions.”
Speakers include Bob Spermo, American Institute for Building and Performance Standards; Tyson Viniard and Gerald Guiling from Stargaze Energy; Alan Clark from Palmer Wahl; and representatives from Flexsure, a division of Gastite, leaders in natural gas piping and solar power systems. Additional speakers will include representatives from the State of Kentucky Renewable Energy Office and WKCTC.
The event will be held from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center on the WKCTC campus.
Note: Project Going Green is sponsored by the West Kentucky Workforce Board, which is funded through the Federal Workforce Investment Act from the U.S. Department of Labor through the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet, Department of Workforce Investment, and the Division of Workforce and Employment Services.
