PTHS Students Selected to Governor’s School for the Arts

TOP STUDENTS PADUCAHPADUCAH, KY (5/3/12) – Three students have been selected to participate in the Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts. Junior Brock Sigler was selected for Architecture. Junior Darrion Woodall was selected for vocal music. Junior Savanna Whelan was selected as an alternate in New Media.
 
Governor’s School for the Arts provides hands-on arts opportunities for talented high school students who are dancers, actors, instrumental and vocal musicians, creative writers, future architects or visual artists. It is hosted by Transylvania University.
 
Brock Sigler is a member of the varsity soccer and tennis teams. He participates in Mock Trial. He is a member of NHS, Beta Club, Student Council, and Advisory Council. He is a member of the Immanuel Baptist Youth Group. His parents are Jim and Susie Sigler.
 
Darrion Woodall is member of the PTHS choir, the PTHS men's a cappella ensemble Prime Rib, and the PTHS Band of Blue. His parents are Nysa Hays and Michael Woodall.
 
Savanna Whelan is a member of the Varsity Soccer, Future Problem Solving, and Speech teams. She is a member of the PTHS orchestra. Whelan volunteers at the McCracken County Library and works at Broadway United Methodist. Her parents are Pam and Gene Whelan.
