Stolen Vehicle Recovered from Clarks River

STOLEN VEH1 500PADUCAH, KY (5/13/12) - Several divers from around the country were attending a week-long Underwater Criminal Investigations class sponsored by Mermet Springs when a vehicle that had been reported stolen three years ago was located.

The class was conducting practical exercises in the Clarks River on their last day of training. While diving around the Boat ramp located under Clarks River Road one of the divers located a truck resting on the bottom of the riverbed. The Divers also assisted a local wrecker service in recovering the truck by attaching cables in approximately 24-feet of water.

The truck, a 1995 Ford F150, was reported stolen in June of 2009. The registered owner, 48-year-old Dalvin Todd, of Paducah reported the truck was taken from him near the entrance to Indian Oaks Mobile Home Park on Clarks River Road, adjacent to Clarks River.

The vehicle had obviously gone into the river off the boat ramp and came to rest under a standing tree on the river bottom.

There is currently no other information pertaining to this case pending further investigation.
