PADUCAH, KY (6/1/12) - At approximately 12:10 P.M. yesterday, May 31, 2012, McCracken County Deputies responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on I-24 just off the bridge.
Once on the scene, Deputies found that a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by 43-year-old Tammy Knight of Gilbertsville was traveling East on 1-24.
Knight was distracted by children arguing in the vehicle and drifted off the left side of the roadway, colliding with an unoccupied vehicle parked on the shoulder. The vehicle on the shoulder had its emergency equipment on and had amber strobes on top, as there were workers doing maintenance on the roadside.
Knight and her juvenile passengers were transported to the Hospital for their injuries incurred in the accident.
Knight was cited for operating a vehicle without insurance (1st Offense.)
