big brother1 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/29/13) – On Saturday April 6, 2013, Carhartt will be sponsoring their very first Spring Fling. This event will be held on Carhartt Facility grounds located on Estill Baker Road in Hanson from 7:00am – 3:00pm. Proceeds will be going to the upcoming Bowl for Kids’ Sake that Big Brothers and Big Sisters sponsors every spring to help raise money for the kids in the community. This will help enable the work of matching children with mentors and providing ongoing support to the children, children’s family and the volunteer.
 
This will be like a flea market meets rummage sale meets craft event. “The idea came from one of our associates, who happens to be one of the captains for Bowl For Kids’ Sake, asked if they can use the facility to rent out booths for this event,” stated Sharon Perry, the VP Logistics at Carhartt.
 
So far, there have been 26 venders who have already rented spaces. There will be a lot of homemade crafts such as; hair bows, wreaths, and jewelry. Other venders like, Mary Kay, 31 Hand Bags will also be out there. The North Hopkins Booster Club will be offering their cooking skills along with two other food venders for this event. Perry also stated, “There will be a variety of things going on and will also be family friendly.”
 
Some 18’x19’ spaces are still available for $20.00 each; these spaces will be offered from now until Saturday March 30, 2013 until 5:00pm. “We are really excited and pleased by the response so far, we have room for more venders. We are looking forward for the community to come out and have a good old fashion good time by supporting our children in our communities,” expressed Perry.
