Two-Vehicle Collision on HWY 60 West

Accident Injuries 01 300PADUCAH, Ky. (4/9/13) – On April 8, at approximately 4:07 PM, McCracken County Sheriff’s Officials responded to a report of an accident with possible injuries on HWY 60 West.
 
Once on the scene, Deputies found that a passenger car driven by 29-year-old Terri Richards of West Paducah, Kentucky was starting from the stop sign, southbound on Kelly Road, attempting to cross US Highway 60 West when she was distracted by her juvenile passenger, 5-month-old Robert Richards, also of West Paducah, Kentucky.
 
Upon being distracted, Richards failed to stop in the center median and continued forward driving into the eastbound lane of traffic on U S Highway 60 West where she collided with a SUV that was eastbound on US Highway 60 West, driven by 43-year-old Carrie Stapleton of Metropolis, Illinois, who also had 9-year-old passenger from Metropolis, Illinois.
 
West McCracken Fire Fighters and Mercy EMS assisted at the scene. Richards was transported to Baptist Health Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
