Early Morning Accident Injures Local Teen

accident w injuries redPADUCAH, Ky. (4/18/13) – The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single vehicle accident that occurred at 7:57 AM in the 700 block of Highland Church Road.
 
The operator and lone occupant, 18-year-old, Carson Oakley, of Lone Oak, was traveling westbound on Highland Church Road when her 2000 Nissan Maxima dropped of the right side of the roadway as she was negotiating a curve. The evidence at the scene revealed that, Carson overcorrected which caused the passenger car to travel partially across the centerline. She then overcorrected a second time which caused the car to travel into a ditch where it became airborne and began to roll. The car landed on a wooden fence, trapping her in the car.
 
The car had to be stabilized before emergency personnel from the Lone Oak Fire Department and Mercy Regional EMS could gain access to her. She was eventually freed from the wreckage and was transported to Baptist Hospital where she remains in critical condition.
 
The investigation in to the cause of the accident is ongoing.
