accident w injuries redPADUCAH, Ky. (5/6/13) – On May 5, 2013, at approximately 7:45 PM, McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies received a call for an injury accident at the intersection of US62/Blandville Road and HWY 286 involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival, deputies located two vehicles off the roadway of Blandville with severe front end damage due to a head on collision. Investigation showed that 19-year-old Robert Beasley of Bardwell, KY was traveling south bound on US62/Blandville in a 2002 Chevy Impala at the intersection of HWY 286.

Beasley attempted to continue to veer left onto Blandville when he was struck head on by another vehicle. The other vehicle, a 1993 Chevy Blazer driven by 55-year-old Ronald Thomas of Paducah, KY, was northbound on HWY 286. Thomas had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of US62/Blandville and HWY 286 and then continued onto Blandville. Thomas stated that he observed Mr. Beasley southbound and attempted to swerve to the right to avoid contact. Investigation showed that both vehicles struck head-on just north of the intersection and came to rest off the shoulder of Blandville Road.

Shellie Elder, 18, of Paducah, KY, was a passenger in the 2002 Chevy Impala.

All occupants were transported by Mercy Regional EMS to area hospitals for minor injuries. Concord Fire Department and Speedy’s Towing assisted at the scene.
