Car Versus Bicycle on Wednesday

bicycle hit blue 300PADUCAH, Ky. (5/30/13) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) investigated a collision involving a bicycle and vehicle that occurred near the intersection of Illinois Street and Albany Street on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at approximately 6:30 P.M.
 
Preliminary investigation revealed that Robert Marshall, age 23 of Paducah, KY, was operating a 2002 Mitsubishi southbound on Illinois Street. Alana Haynes, age 8 of Paducah, KY was riding a bicycle southbound on Illinois Street. For an unknown reason Marshall struck the bicycle before coming to a stop at the intersection.
 
Haynes was transported to Lourdes ER and was later flown to Vanderbilt Hospital for non-life threatening injuries she obtained in the collision.
 
The investigation is being conducted by KSP Collision Reconstructionist Trooper Eric Fields. KSP was assisted on the scene by McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, McCracken County DES, and Mercy Regional EMS.
