Accident Injury 01 gold 300PADUCAH, Ky. (6/2/13) - At around 11:30 this morning, Deputies, Fire and Mercy Ambulance responded to a three vehicle accident on I-24 Bridge.

Dennis Nicholson, age 61, of Metropolis IL, was operating a 2004 Nissan Altima in the left lane of I-24 eastbound when he slowed for traffic. Traffic was slowing due to the construction at the 3 mile marker. Nicholson was then struck in the rear by a 2013 Honda Pilot driven by Kelly Deasel, age 20, of Metropolis IL, after she was struck in the rear by a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Mary Canup, age 37, also of Metropolis IL.

Canup was transported to Baptist Health Hospital by Mercy Ambulance for injuries to her ankle and arms. Nicholson and Deasel were not injured in the collision.

Randy’s Wrecker Service was contacted to recover Canup’s vehicle due to the front end damage. I-24 eastbound was down to one lane for about 45 minutes due to the collision.
