Henderson Police Department, Methodist Hospital to Host ‘Citizen’s Academy’

hend police academy 300HENDERSON, Ky. (6/11/13) – Beginning on Tuesday, June 25, the Henderson Police Department and Methodist Hospital will be conducting a Citizen’s Academy for Senior Adults at Methodist Hospital every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11a.m. for 10 weeks. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the functions of the Henderson Police Department. Weekly sessions will include, but are not limited to: Introduction to Policing & HPD, Training, Fitness & Healthy Living, Basic Criminal Law, Emergency Preparedness, Patrol Operations, Investigations (Criminal & Drug), Crime Scene Investigations, and Home Safety.

Classes will be interactive, not just lecture. Participants are encouraged to attend each session. At the end of the eight weeks, a Graduation Lunch will be held at Methodist Hospital. Join us to learn more about the Henderson Police Department and our community. Please feel free to contact Officer Jennifer Richmond at 270-831-1295 with any questions that you may have about this program. Class size will be limited to 20 people. Handouts and prizes are included. This opportunity is free. If you want to participate, please call Officer Richmond and sign up no later than Friday, June 21.
