hend police arrest1 300HENDERSON, Ky. (6/17/13) – Henderson Police reported the following accidents and investigations for the week of June 11:

On June 11 at 12:44 p.m., Henderson Police responded to report of an accident at the intersection of N. Main and 1st St. Authorities said Jean Downs, 79, Corydon, was driving north on Main St. when she apparently struck two parked vehicles before running off the road and striking a nearby business building. No injuries were reported.

On June 13 at 3:46 p.m., Henderson Police responded to report of theft at Red Banks Nursing Home in the 800 block of Kimsey Lane. Authorities said two $25 gift cards and an I-Phone belonging to the nursing home were reported stolen from one of the offices. The investigation is continuing. On June 14, the owner of Spudz-N-Stuff at 192 N. Garden Mile Rd. contacted Henderson Police regarding the alleged theft of more than $500 by a store employee between June 4 and June 13. Jason Dicken told authorities he had a video of an employee, Alexis DeVault, taking cash from the register. DeVault was arrested on charges of unlawful taking more than $500 and lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center.

On June 14 at 12:10 p.m., Henderson Police responded to report of an accident with injuries. Authorities said Rodney Dubose, Jr., 10, of Evansville, Ind., was riding his bicycle across the intersection of Letcher and O’Byrne streets when he was apparently struck by Patricia Hanley, 59, Spottsville, as she was driving south on Letcher. Dubose suffered minor injuries and was taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment.

On June 15 at 1:17 a.m., Dylan Majors, 20, Corydon, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and second degree unlawful transaction with a minor following a Henderson Police traffic stop at the intersection of 2nd and Carlisle streets.

On June 15 at 5:14 a.m., James Bowman, Jr., 40, was cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs after he allegedly struck East Heights Elementary with his truck. Authorities said Bowman told them after the accident, he walked him. He was then taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment of injuries. The school was alerted about the damage to the building, authorities said.
