PADUCAH, Ky. (7/3/13) – On July 7th, 2013 at approximately 1:58 AM, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a single-vehicle accident on HWY 286.
Investigation revealed that Taylor M. Griffith, 21 years of age, of Kevil, was operating a 2001 Saturn Vue westbound on HWY 286, when for undetermined reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and stuck a mailbox at 11500 HWY 286. The vehicle then struck a ditch, which caused the vehicle to flip over on to its roof.
Further investigation revealed that Griffith was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
Griffith was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Due to her injuries, Griffith was cited to court.
Griffith was charged with:
-Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs 1st Offense
-Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance 2nd Offense
-Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree
The Criminal Mischief charge resulted from damages Griffith caused to the mailbox at 11500 HWY 286.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was assisted on scene by The West McCracken Fire Department, Mercy Regional EMS, and Meadow’s Towing.
