MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (7/9/13) – A bit of rain didn't stop Gospel music fans from packing the Merle Travis Music Center on Friday night, July 5th.

The Pickin' in the Park summer series venue is actually Paradise Park, 750 Cleaton Road, right next to the center.

As rain clouds moved in just before show time, everyone headed for the music center and the show went on as planned at 7 p.m.

The quartet, made up of Larry Allen, Sharon Gilliman, and Darrell and Gerald Heltsley, sang in sweet, tight harmony, performing Gospel favorites like "Sweet Beulah land" and "Sweet, Sweet Spirit".

Voices of Praise is the second of several musicians scheduled to perform this summer as the "Pickin' in the Park" series continues on the first and third Friday of each month.

The next free concert will feature County Line Bluegrass on July 19th. Also performing will be High Praise on August 2nd, Deena Asley Baumgart with Paul Moseley on September 6th and Al Hudson and Friends on September 20th.

Keep up with this and other summer events at Paradise Park and the Merle Travis Music Center on Facebook, or call 270-377-0227.
