Two Vehicle Collision on I-24

accident w injuries redPADUCAH, Ky. (7/16/13) – On July 16 the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a two vehicle collision on I-24 at the 15mm.

The investigation showed that Barbara J. Ashby, 64, of Metropolis Illinois was traveling east in a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis when she struck the rear of a 2002 Toyota Celica driven by 21-year-old Susan L. Keim of Benton, Ky. Keim advised that a vehicle in front of her had struck one of the orange barrels causing it to roll across the roadway. When Keim attempted to avoid striking the barrel, Ashby was unable to stop in time, striking Keim’s vehicle in the rear.

Ashby was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries by Mercy Regional Ambulance Service. Assisting on the scene was Reidland-Farley Fire Department and Meadows Towing.
