Single-Vehicle Injury Collision on HWY 62

rollover accident 300PADUCAH, Ky. (9/12/13) – On Sept. 11, 2013, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle rollover collision, on US HWY 62 at N. Gum Springs Road.

The investigation showed that 18-year-old Grace Y. Yarbrough was westbound on US HWY 62 (Blandville Road) and was negotiating a right hand curve when her she lost control of her 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. Due to the wet roadway surface Yarbrough’s vehicle began to fish tail and ran off the right shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle then rolled down an earth embankment and came to rest on its hood.

Yarbrough was able to exit the vehicle on her own and sustained what appeared to be minor injuries. Yarbrough was transported to an area hospital by Mercy Regional Ambulance.

The roadway was restricted to one lane for approximately one hour while the collision scene was cleaned up.

The Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Concord Fire Dept. and Jason’s Collision Center.
