Two Injured in Accident at Intersection of John Puryear Drive and Husband’s Road

accident two car 300PADUCAH, Ky. (9/16/13) – On September 14th, 2013 at approximately 2:36 p.m., McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the intersection of John Puryear Drive and Husband’s Road for a report of a traffic accident.

On arrival, Deputies located Harold Council, 85 of Paducah, KY, still seated in his 2011 Chrysler 300C with airbag deployment. Witnesses that had stopped at the scene to assist advised deputies that 28-year-old Natasha Dowell of Boaz, KY, was located in the parking lot of Exxon Gas Station. Ms. Dowell was still sitting in her 2001 Nissan Altima with airbag deployment as well.

Investigation showed that Dowell was southbound on John Puryear Drive when Council entered her path traveling eastbound from Husband’s Road across John Puryear. Dowell was unable to avoid the collision and struck Council in the driver side of his vehicle. Dowell then traveled across the northbound lanes of John Puryear and came to rest bumper to bumper with a 1995 GMC Van that was parked and unoccupied at the time of the collision.

Ms. Dowell and Mr. Council were both transported to Lourdes Hospital by Mercy EMS for non-life threatening injuries. Reidland Farley Fire Department and Jason’s Collision Center assisted at the scene.
