motorcycle acc blue2 300PADUCAH, Ky. (9/30/13) – At approximately 3:17 PM on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, McCracken County Sheriff Deputies responded to a single motorcycle injury accident in the 400 block of Said Road.
 
Investigation showed Gary Haney, 48, of Paducah KY, was traveling northbound on his 1998 Harley Davidson. Haney failed to negotiate a curve and exited to the right side of the road. Haney was unable to regain control of his motorcycle and was ejected.
 
Haney was not wearing a helmet at the time of this collision.
 
Haney was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.
 
Based upon witness statements, speed is believed to be a contributing factor.
 
Alcohol is also believed to be a contributing factor. Due to his condition, Haney was cited to court for Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving on DUI Suspended License.
 
McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Reidland Fire Department and Mercy Regional Ambulance Service.
 
This portion of Said Road was closed for approximately 50 minutes for investigation and clean-up.
