OWENSBORO, Ky. (10/3/13) – At the southern edge of Owensboro on U.S. Hwy. 231, a construction company has been hard at work creating a new community within Daviess County.

Deer Valley, one of several subdivisions located within the previously rural area, offers as many as 85 new homes to potential residents in a community with a total of 600 homes slated, according to David Crowe, Vice President of Sales for Jagoe Homes.

At a Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting held in Deer Valley last week, Crowe told the group of Chamber ambassadors and other invited guests the homes range in size and price, anywhere from 1100 to 1500 square feet, and $130,000 to $170,000, respectively. Homes in other neighborhoods around Deer Valley are as large as 2,000 square feet and are priced from $150,000 to $200,000.

Crowe told SurfKY News the company builds about 200 to 300 new homes each year in multiple counties as far away as Shelby and Oldham counties all the way to Evansville, Ind.

He said the decision to hold the ribbon cutting in Deer Valley was based on the company’s expectations for the subdivision.

“We designed Deer Valley as a master plan community,” he said, noting that the company will continue to build neighborhoods within the residential area. “We wanted to introduce this neighborhood to the public, and work on making people aware of new homes.”

Jagoe Homes’ corporate office is located here in Owensboro, and the company has been in operation since 1939.
