ambulance Emergency medicsMCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (2/3/14) — McCracken deputies responded to an injury accident at approximately 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2 on the median of I24 and 10 mile marker.

According to McCracken Sheriff’s Department report, the investigation indicated Penny Free, 63, of Paducah was traveling eastbound on I24 with her five-year-old grandchild.

Free lost control of her vehicle due to inclement weather. Her vehicle spun around. She struck a semi-truck behind her, driven by Clyde Tatum, 54, of Detroit MI.

Both vehicles landed in the median of I24.

One lane traffic was closed for forty-five minutes to remove the semi-truck from the median, the report said.

The child was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the report said.
