PADUCAH, Ky. (3/12/14) — Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Paducah man and woman on unrelated prescription drug trafficking charges on Tuesday afternoon.
Detectives with the department’s drug division conducted an investigation during the month of February that consisted of purchasing several doses of Lortab from Darlene Burns, 60. Burns has a prior conviction for trafficking in Marijuana making this a second offense.
In an unrelated investigation, detectives purchased doses of Oxycontin and Soma from Michael Thomas,52, during the month of February.
Arrest warrants were issued for both individuals on March 11.
Both were arrested on Tuesday afternoon without incident and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
Michael Thomas was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance first degree, and trafficking in a controlled substance third degree.
Darlene Burns was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance second degree second or greater offense.
