Paducah Man Arrested After Assault with a Knife

mccracken sheriff 01 300PADUCAH, Ky. (4/18/14) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to an assault in the Freemont Community of Paducah around 7:07 p.m. April 17.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene and located Herbert E. Brown, 37, of Paducah, on top of one of the victims, about to assault the victim again with a knife. After commands were given for Brown to drop the knife, he complied, and was taken into custody without further incident. Brown was later interviewed by detectives where he confessed to attacking the two victims at the Michael Drive address.

Jim R. Capps, 55, and Randall B. Geantt, 50, both from Paducah, were both transported to Baptist Health Hospital where they were treated for what appeared to be minor laceration. No injuries appeared to be life threatening.

Brown was later charged with one count of assault first degree and one count of assault fourth degree (minor injury).

Brown was later lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
