Single Vehicle Collision on Olivet Church Road Leads to Road Closure, Driver Arrested For DUI

DUI ARREST3 300PADUCAH, Ky. (6/18/14) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department received a report of single vehicle accident in the 2400 block of Olivet Church Road, June 17, 2014 at approximately 10:01 p.m.

Investigation revealed that Joshua Weaver, 30, of Kevil, was operating a 2005 Ford F150 Southbound on Olivet Church Road when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a Jackson Purchase utility pole in front of 2400 Olivet Church Road.

Further investigation revealed that Weaver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. Weaver was placed under arrest and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. Charges: DUI first offense – class B misdemeanor, Criminal Mischief Third Degree – class B misdemeanor.

Both lanes of Olivet Church Road were closed for approximately an hour and a half while Jackson Purchase crews set a new utility pole.
