Motorcycle VS Motorcycle Hit and Run Sends Two to Hospital

accident injuries amb 300MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (7/18/14) — At approximately 9:55 p.m., deputies were dispatched with Reidland Farley FD and Mercy Regional Ambulance to an injury accident on Clarks River Road in front the Five Star Food Mart.

The Investigation concluded 51 year old Will Gainey of Ledbetter was traveling East on US 60/Clarks River Road on a Black and Silver 1999 Honda Shadow motorcycle and collided with an unidentified motorcycle attempting to turn off Clarks River Road into a liquor store parking lot. A passenger, 28 year old Crystal Cowen of Grand Rivers was thrown from the unidentified motorcycle and sustained severe injuries. The operator of the unidentified motorcycle left Mrs. Cowen on the side of the road where she had been thrown and fled the area.

Mr. Gainey and Ms. Cowen were transported by Mercy Regional Ambulance to Baptist ER where Ms. Cowen was later airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. The unidentified motorcycle operator was confirmed by witnesses and family as 37 year old Kevin Bowler of Ledbetter Ky but attempts to locate him proved unsuccessful.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kevin Bowers are urged to contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Dept. as there will be pending charges and the investigation is ongoing.

Clarks River Road was partially blocked for approximately 1 hour to facilitate the treatment of patients, investigation and cleanup.
